Knob Placement On Kitchen Cabinets - Once you decide to replace the cabinet hardware you may find the style you choose will not look great if you try and change the buttons in the same place that the old one was in. So what to do? You certainly do not want to go back to the boring old hardware alike. Instead, you need a better understanding of your options for where to place the buttons on the cupboard.

The most obvious place to put a button will be on the side opposite the hinges. leverage allows you to open the door with almost no effort. This is great for people who may have a disability limiting their grip strength. The only exception to this rule is if you have to hold down the closet, you know, kind of a giant drawer. They you'll want to install the buttons centered on the cabinet so as not binding on both sides.

Unfortunately there is no magic formula for where to put the buttons on the cupboard. It will all come down to how the closet is designed and the size and shape of them and your kitchen.

There are tricks that you can use to figure out where to put the buttons without just randomly drilling holes into the face of a group of cabinet and hoped for the best. Head to the hardware store and pick up a small tub of plumber's putty. Plumbers putty is non-hardening compound that is a little tacky. You can do a little dollops of it then use it to just stick to the cabinet knobs.

Roll into balls.

Download putty cabinet hardware and press it into the back of it. Now you can just stick to the face of the cabinet knob wherever you think it would look right. Repeat this for several door so you can get the overall feel for how the button will be seen sitting in a row. You can reposition the buttons simply by popping them off the face of the cabinet and sticking them back in a new place.

Once you know the right look for your cabinet should measure the offset knob on the bottom and side edges of the closet. You can then use these measurements as a template for the placement. Marking offset in each closet and check to make sure they are not tilted up or down.

The last thing to do is to install the hardware. Just drill holes in the cabinet and slide the bolt through the hole and tighten the knob down onto it. It's all fairly simple job.
